VACANCIES FOR MECHANICAL DESIGN DRAUGHTSPERSONS

THE JOB

· Design, development and productionisation of aerospace electro-mechanical equipment (from electronic enclosures through to precision mechanisms, switches and controls)

· Produce design schemes from customer or marketing-driven specifications

· Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and 3D models

THE PERSON

· Qualified to degree or HND level in Mechanical Engineering

· Proficient in use of SolidWorks, ideally version 2007/2008

· Experience of electro-mechanical product design and introduction to production, preferably in an aerospace, defence or similar environment

· Experience of modelling and 2D drawing essential. Knowledge of rendering advantageous

· Knowledge of machined parts, castings, plastics & rubber mouldings, sheet metal work and associated finishes and treatments

· Experience of thermal design and electronics packaging highly desirable

· Experience of design to cost and design for manufacture

· A good team worker, responsible for mechanical aspects of design within a multi-disciplinary project team

· Able to work under pressure and establish & achieve timescales for tasks

· Familiar with configuration control procedures and change note administration
