MANAGER

Member of
Management Team

Manage, train
and develop a team of Buyers
·
Manage and
continue to build strong supplier relationships
·
Implement and
maintain Key Supplier Agreements for short and long term supplies
·
Ensure
Purchase Orders are placed on time and all items delivered on time, conforming
to required quality standards, to satisfy production program
·
Source
suppliers as required and successfully negotiate competitive prices
·
Report and
maintain Vendor Rating System for Strategic Suppliers
·
Help implement
the UTC Operating System – ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) – training
will be provided
·
CIPS
qualification and/or degree level education
·
Capable of
demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of purchasing principles
·
Able to manage
complex situations with both internal and external clients
·
Strong
negotiation and communication skills
·
Must have
drive, enthusiasm and the ability to set and achieve key objectives
·
Experience of
purchasing electro-mechanical components, PCB assemblies, in the aerospace,
defence or electronics industries
·
Sound
knowledge of MRP, Windows XP, PowerPoint, Word, & Excel.
·
Able to manage
under pressure and deal effectively with conflicting priorities
·
5 weeks
holiday plus Bank Holidays, Sick Pay Scheme, Private Medical Insurance,
contributory Pension Scheme with Life Assurance, subsidised
canteen, and 37.5 hour basic working week with lunch-time finish on
Fridays
